board member –  is a body of elected or appointed member or members who jointly or each separately represent company or oversee the activities of a company or organization. Other names include board of directors, board of governors, board of managers, board of regents, board of trustees, and board of visitors. It is often simply referred to as “the board”. Board member has overall responsibility for the management of company or organization, a nonprofit or nonstock organization, such as a foundation, university or mutual fund.
